Hey Jason, welcome to the forum! I dig your track - you've got some great ideas in there!

Some possible ideas to work on: Love the opening progression and how you take your time getting to the heavy part, though I think it could get there quicker. You could also try starting with that progression but expanding as you go on to add new chords. I'd also watch the compression and low levels on the drums - you could get more power out of your track with some adjustment.

Check out a band called Insomnium, I think you might dig their vibe.

I've listened to Insomnium their first 2 releases anyway. I was a big fan but just lost interest in Melodic Death Metal. I still throw their songs on once in a while though.

I actually had the same Idea you did for expanding that chord progression, its just I couldn't find anything that had the same impact or was just as good you know? so I just went with the flow. The softness at the beginning does take awhile but I don't think I over did it you know? Felt pretty solid to me.

And I know my recording/mixing/mastering is not perfect man, lol, thanks for the advice foreal, I really just do anything... I have no IDEA.
