PERIPHERY Announces New ICARUS LIVES EP Details And Tour Info

January 26th, 2011

There is no doubt that Periphery are innovators, and they continue to raise the bar of originality upon the release of their much anticipated new Icarus Lives EP, which is now officially set for an April 19th release. This offering features a brand new, previously unreleased track, a series of remixes and several video clips.

Thomas Murphy (bass) states: “Hello to all of our fans out there. We wanted to let you in on some exciting news! We will be releasing our second effort in the form of The Icarus Lives EP later this spring. We like to think of it as a supplement to our first album. It will contain a version of ‘Icarus Lives!’ with newly recorded vocals and the fantastic music video by Ian McFarland and Mike Pecci of Killswitch Productions, alongside several remixes of the song by the band, the winner of our Icarus remix contest (Pete Graves from the UK) and a special guest to be named at a later date. We have also included a tweaked version of our song ‘Jetpacks Was Yes‘ and the brand new music video by Eric Haviv at FUGO studios.

In addition, the songs ‘Captain On‘ and ‘Eureka‘ (available only through digital download until now) will be made available in physical format with newly re-recorded vocals. To sweeten the deal, we have added a new song, ‘Frak the Gods,’ to give our fans a taste of what’s to come as we enter the studio later this year to record our second full length. As you can tell, we tried to make this EP worth your time and money. We have put a ton of time into these songs to deliver to you an exciting and polished product. Thank you for all the support and hopefully we’ll see you out on the road.”

On March 3rd, PERIPHERY makes their much-anticipated return to North America alongside Fair To Midland and Scale The Summit. This five-week trek is going to be a monster as you can see below by viewing the entire touring itinerary. Also, the group’s visually stunning masterpiece for the track, “Jetpacks Was Yes,” can now be viewed above or at Guitar World. The video was produced by Eric Haviv, Richard Webb, and Brandon Morris of FUGO Studios.

Very rarely does a band come along that defies the boundaries of conventionality, but the experimental, progressive metal outfit PERIPHERY have done just that and have blazed a trail of originality that has sent a shockwave throughout the metal world. Head over to for additional information.

Love these guys so much. Can’t wait for the new EP. I’m stoked for when they start writing NEW material with the entire band involved. Hopefully that won’t be too long of a wait!
