PERIPHERY Announces Their First Ever North American Headlining Touring Package

June 16th, 2011

Very rarely does a band come along that just defies the boundaries of conventionality, but the experimental, progressive metal outfit PERIPHERY have done just that and have blazed a trail of originality that has sent shockwaves throughout the metal world. Now after countless years of touring as a supporting band the group has finally attained headlining status. They will embark on the highly anticipated “Frak The Gods” tour in September and has put together a stunning package. See below and keep in touch to for additional information and VIP Ticketing info, which will be announced in the coming weeks.

Misha Mansoor (guitars) states: “Hey guys. We are really excited to be announcing our very first North American headlining run. It is called the ‘Frak The Gods’ tour. We feel so lucky to be able to have our buddies in The Human Abstract as direct support to us. They will be followed by Textures, whom we all love dearly, and who will be coming to the U.S. for the first time ever! Last, but definitely not least, we have the wonderful dudes from The Contortionist rounding off this fun little package. The dates are still being worked out but the tour will be from early September to early October and it will also hit a few Canadian locations as well because we love you guys too. Needless to say, this is definitely a tour by musicians for musicians. With that said, all fans of progressive music, musician or not, will enjoy this tour greatly. We hope to see you guys at the shows.”

There is no doubt that PERIPHERY are innovators and Mansoor is being hailed by industry experts and his peers as one of the main purveyors of this current Djent movement that is feverishly spreading throughout the progressive circles. The group’s acclaimed new Icarus EP is now available in stores everywhere. This offering features a brand new unreleased track, bonus tracks from their previous album, a series of remixes and video clips.
