Mark Kilianski Berklee College of Music '10 Of the Ages, Guitarist

Mark Kilianski is an up and coming guitar player from Nutley, New Jersey. He has been a part of rock bands Of The Ages and Cameron, performing all over New Jersey at venues such as School Of Rock, The Stone Pony, Starland Ballroom, and Rutgers University.

While in high school, Mark traveled and played with the Nutley High School Concert Choir, Jazz Band and Jazz Lab at William Paterson University, Niagra Falls, and Carnegie Hall. He now attends Berklee College of Music in Boston, where after one semester, he is building a strong reputation as a composer, arranger, songwriter, and guitar player.

Mark contributes to Guitar Messenger by writing his column, Jazz Primer. The aim of the column is to break down the complex elements of jazz and present them in a way that's approachable and at the same time to emphasize the musicality of this genre. The column will open new doors to beginning and intermediate musicians, but will also expand the knowledge of the more advanced players out there.
