Matt Baamonde is
a 20 year old sophomore at Berklee College of Music, Boston,
Massachusetts,
where
he plans on a dual-major in Guitar Performance and
Production. His home base is Herndon, Virginia, where he
studied at the
Fairfax County Academy’s Music and Computer Technology
Program. In 2004, Matt was awarded a scholarship to attend
the National Guitar Workshop and a year later won the “Academy
Award” for being the “Most Creative Composer” in
his area.
Baamonde’s
music, under the band name “Baazar”,
gained national attention by winning awards at GarageBand.com
and American Idol Underground. He has been featured in the Washington
Post, Guitar World (July and August
2006) and on Fox News. Matt also writes
for ModernGuitars.com.
In his column there, Berklee X, talks about
his experiences at Berklee as they unfold
and
as
he evolves as a guitarist and performer. His first CD, featuring
his award winning songs, will be available soon at CD Baby.
Matt’s

No Questions, is a guide for upcoming guitarists on how to
become well rounded musicians by developing the fundamental
skills
of
a professional guitarist.
